The Trinity Lutheran College Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country Teams concluded their regular seasons Saturday at Seattle University’s Emerald City Open.
This season has been a historic one for Eagle Distance Running, as it is the first time that both the Men’s and the Women’s teams have had large enough rosters to post official team scores.
Sophomore transfer Johnny Bywater broke the 8k school record with a time of 26:34.86 (set last year by Justin Yoke with a 26:52.24). Amie Torkelson, with a time of 19:32.70, broke the 5k school record of 21:02.00 (set in 2011 by Katheryne Schaefer), as well as the 6k record of 26:00.92 (also set in the 2011 season by Schaefer) with a time of 24:09.83.
Cameron Siler and Johnny Bywater have both qualified individually for the NCCAA National Championship meet on November 16th at Cedarville, Ohio, making it three years straight that Trinity runners have qualified for nationals.
There will be a live video feed of the NCCAA National Championships provided by Cedarville University on their website. The live feed will begin streaming at 7:45 AM on November 16th.
