Trinity hires new athletic director


Matt KoenigsTrinity President John Reed is pleased to announce that Matt Koenigs has been hired as the college’s new Athletic Director.

Koenigs has served the college for the past two years as coach of the college’s Cross-Country and Track and Field programs. In addition, Koenigs has coached cross-country and track and field at Everett Community College since 2006, leading that program to national titles several years in a row.

He is an accomplished athlete, having competed and won impressive awards in cross-country, track and field, and swimming, as well as several triathlons. He is also the record holder and champion of the 2012 Moses Lake Marathon.

As well as a skilled coach and athlete, Koenigs brings a strong set of recruitment and administrative skills to his position. He is a wonderful addition to Trinity’s athletic program in his new role.

“We are so happy that Matt is taking on a broader role at Trinity as athletic director. He has done excellent work coaching and recruiting for our cross-country and track and field programs, and we know he will bring the best dedication and commitment his new position,” Reed said.

Koenigs starts as Trinity’s athletic director on July 1.
