Trinity Lutheran College Women's Soccer finished their home season with a 4-1 win over Evergreen State College Sunday at Lincoln Field.
Preceding the game the Trinity senior athletes were introduced to the crowd and given a small gift of appreciation from their teammates and coach. Among them were Shey Tomassen, Kayla Kliphardt, Brianna Ellis, Kaeli Eberth, Kaja Harrision, and Tiffany Thomas. They were commended for their dedication to the program and for helping to lay the foundation for what will surely be a bright future for the Lady Eagles.
Scoring was opened with a 20-yard one-time volley by senior Kayla Kliphardt into the upper corner, followed by another first-half goal by Courtney Brown. Second-half scoring erupted with yet another finish from Kliphardt and ended with a hard-earned penalty kick by senior Kaeli Eberth.
This solid win earned some satisfaction for the Lady Eagles, who have had a number of narrow one-goal and overtime losses this season, hopefully setting the stage for the final games to be played in Montana later on this month.
