Biography: Michael DeLashmutt serves as Academic Dean and Vice President for Academic Affairs. He also teaches courses in the biblical studies program. DeLashmutt has oversight over the college’s academic programs, provides leadership for accreditation and assessment as well as supervising and mentoring Trinity's exceptional faculty.
DeLashmutt is a distinguished scholar, teacher and administrator who came to Trinity in 2013 after serving as Associate Dean of First Theological Degree Programs at Luther Seminary. DeLashmutt has also worked as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Exeter and held appointments at Sarum College (Salisbury), Northwest University, University of Glasgow and University of Aberdeen.
DeLashmutt holds a B.A. in Biblical Literature and Theology from Northwest University and a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. His Ph.D., from the University of Glasgow, focused on the intersections of theology and technology. In addition, he holds a postgraduate certificate in academic practice from the University of Exeter.
DeLashmutt lives in Everett with his wife, Julia, and their two daughters.
