Children, Youth & Family Studies Student Profiles

Robin Stillmaker

Robin Stillmaker

My hometown: Maple Valley, WA
My future interests: I want to go on to seminary to earn my Master of Divinity and become an ordained pastor.
Why I chose Trinity: One of my biggest reasons is the opportunities to study abroad during January Term (this year I’m going to Israel!).
The best part of the CYFS program: I love that we take courses that are practical and directly related to what we want to do with our future. I have had the opportunity to take classes like Models for Programming, Service Projects and Mission Trips, Lifespan Development, Congregational Youth Ministry, Congregational Children’s Ministry, and Let Justice Roll. The courses are enriching and many include hands-on experiences outside of the classroom.

Megan Lurry

Megan Lurry

My hometown: From Enumclaw, WA
My future interests: Working with youth and teaching them about who Jesus is and who they are as people.
Why I chose Trinity: I chose Trinity because my youth leader went here. She is a big role model in my life, and I hope to be like that to my future youth someday, too.
The best part of the CYFS program: So far, it’s the relationships. I’ve grown so close to people here and have gotten great help from the professors. I’ve already learned so much in so little time. I’m so thankful I am a part of this school!

Megan Hundley

Megan Hundley

My hometown: Marysville, WA
My future interests: I would like to be a program director at a Christian camp or a youth director in a church.
Why I chose Trinity: I chose Trinity because it’s a small school and you really get to know the other students and faculty. I also love that it’s a Lutheran school, so religion is never a taboo topic.
The best part of the CYFS program: The awesome professors and diversity of students. We all come with different backgrounds and with different passions for children, youth, and their families. Class discussions are always interesting!
